Anderhalve eeuw geleden in 1839 werd stal Maathuis geboren, destijds “Erve Mensman”. Johannes Maathuis startte de handel van paarden bestemd voor de landbouw en het transport.<\/p>\n

Zoon Gerard Maathuis begon na de tweedewereldoorlog de handel in rijpaarden en als hobby spande hij vaak het paard voor de koets. Hij kreeg samen met z’n vrouw Marie twee zonen, Jan en Gerard (jr.).<\/p>\n

Zo ging het bedrijf van generatie op generatie en werd in 1939 Jan Maathuis geboren. Jan Maathuis werd een succesvolle ruiter. Hij werd 6 keer over Nederlands kampioen springen en 1 maal Nederlands kampioen in de dressuur. Jan reed 15 jaar lang mee in het Nederlandse team in landenwedstrijden zoals die van Aken en Hickstead. Mede hierdoor werd het bedrijf Stal Maathuis erg succesvol in de handel van spring en dressuurpaarden. Jan Maathuis was een leermeester van menig hedendaags succesvolle ruiters die gereden hebben voor de Stal. O.a. Johan Heins, Roelof Bril en de Gebroeders\u00a0Schr\u00f6der.<\/p>\n

Jan\u00a0Maathuis en zijn vrouw Anneke trouwden met elkaar en\u00a0kregen samen twee kinderen. In 1969 werd\u00a0hun tweede kind en eerste zoon geboren,\u00a0genaamd Bart Maathuis. Bij Bart bloeide de liefde voor de paarden door de jaren heen ook op en begon op z’\u00a0n zesde met de pony’s. Er was geen betere leerschool dan bij zijn vader. Hij heeft jaren mee gereden in alle klasses op landelijk niveau. Bart\u00a0richt zich nu\u00a0voornamelijk op het klaarmaken van paarden voor de handel, zorgt voor een vlot lopende communicatie, inkoop ,verkoop\u00a0en\u00a0managet het bedrijf.\u00a0Samen met het Team\u00a0is Stal Maathuis ontplooid tot een gerenommeerd handelsbedrijf.<\/p>\n
